Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Summary

  • Pride Map has no accounts, forms or newsletter, and sets no tracking cookies.
  • No tracking or analytics scripts run in your browser.
  • I do not store any personal data about visitors on my own systems.
  • Like any website, pages and map tiles are delivered by service providers that see your IP address. They are listed below.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Florin Savu. Contact: contact@pridemap.app.

What is processed and why

Visiting the site. When you load a page, your browser sends technical data (IP address, requested URL, referrer, browser type, time) to the hosting provider so the page can be delivered and the site protected against abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Statistics. The hosting provider turns these requests into aggregated traffic statistics, such as page views and visitor countries. This happens on its servers, without cookies or scripts in your browser, and I only see totals, never individual visitors. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.

The map. The map page loads map images (tiles) directly from the providers listed below, which receive your IP address. Legal basis: legitimate interest in showing where listings are.

Email. If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering your request. Emails are deleted once the matter is closed, and at the latest after 12 months.

Storage on your device

Pride Map runs no tracking or advertising cookies. It stores two settings on your device, both of them choices you made yourself:

  • theme: your light or dark mode choice, so the site remembers it. Kept in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
  • pridemap_prefs: a cookie holding the country you picked, so the site opens on it next time. It lasts six months, is sent only to pridemap.app, and is never used to recognise you or track you across sites.

Both are strictly necessary to provide the preferences you asked for, so they do not require consent under Romanian Law 506/2004 (art. 4(5)) and the EU ePrivacy Directive. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Fonts, images and map markers are served from pridemap.app itself. No requests go to Google Fonts or other font or image hosts.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data held about you;
  • have it corrected or deleted;
  • restrict or object to its processing;
  • receive it in a portable format.

Email contact@pridemap.app to exercise these rights. I will reply within one month. Because I do not store visitor data myself, requests about hosting or map logs may need to go to the provider concerned; I will tell you if that is the case.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (B-dul G-ral. Gheorghe Magheru 28-30, Sector 1, Bucharest, dataprotection.ro), or with the authority in the EU/EEA country where you live or work.

Other information

There is no automated decision-making or profiling. The site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If the site starts processing data in new ways, for example new analytics or advertising, this policy will be updated before the change goes live, and the date above will change. See also the Terms of Use and Legal Notice.
